Let your thoughts roam in the magic of the Middle Ages, where folk tales of old and sovereignty reign. Lions among gilded leaves on the bed canopy, bronze rams on the bedside lamps, and aristocratic gold-embroidered red velvet armchairs on either side of the fireplace decorated with holly leaves complete the décor. Royal blue drapes, red fabrics and embroidered Fleurs de Lys are all reminiscent of its medieval history.

The bathroom has an air of the Roman baths about it, with its vaulted ceiling, antique tiled floor and black Marquina marble.

A stay in this remarkable guest room is a truly awesome experience. The walls are adorned in the same marble used for busts of the Roman emperors, a Byzantine console complete with lions’ heads stands out in this custom-made décor and bunches of grapes and vine leaves adorn the fabrics and carved posts of the four-poster bed. Cradled among the red, gold, green and bronze hues, guests experience for themselves the overpowering magic of times gone by. The battle scenes carved into the woodwork and the medieval traditions which decorate the exposed beams of the ceilings, tell of History and its conquests. Chosen with the utmost attention, the fabrics worthy of English royal palaces, the silk and velvet drapes, the damask armchairs and the Genoese velvet bedspread are all silky, refined archives. Finally, in the bathroom with its

whitewashed walls, the silver faucets take the form of the black swans of the moat.
